The cedar-shingled house that Andre Dubus III built for his family in the seaside town of Newbury, Mass., has four levels that sprawl across 6,000 square feet, with plenty of rooms that could have made a nice writer’s office. But Mr. Dubus plies his trade down in the mechanical room, near the exercise equipment and the boiler, in a lofted space that he built himself out of plywood. There is a window, but Mr. Dubus has covered it with a blanket to block out the daylight. Writing longhand with a pencil and paper, he has produced five books in this cramped space. He refers to it variously as “my writing cave,” “my dream portal” and “the engine house.”

Fame and fortune weren't exactly in the cards for actor and WWE superstar John Cena early on. Finding a job in the field, however, proved harder than he'd thought, Cena told comedian Kevin Hart on Peacock talk show "Hart to Heart." After "every avenue of fitness failed," and a last-ditch effort to become a highway patrol officer fell through, Cena was met with homelessness, sleeping in the back of his 1991 Lincoln Continental and living off free pizza from a local shop. "They had a deal where, if you could eat their whole pizza, you got it for free," Cena said, chuckling. It's a job Cena didn't even know was possible.

Inditex is planning to open at least 10 new Zara stores across the US by 2025. At least a dozen other Zara locations will be revamped or enlarged, the retailer said. "This is a market in which for every $100 of fashion sold, we take less than $0.50 of that," García Maceiras said. Foot traffic is up at Zara stores around the world, and Inditex reported a 23% jump in store sales in 2022 across its portfolio of brands, which includes Zara, Bershka, and Massimo Dutti. Inditex plans to invest 1.6 billion euros, about $1.7 billion, in expanding its stores and warehouses worldwide, including a new Zara store on Paris' Champs Elysées, and at least 10 new locations across the US.
